Glass beads
Characteristics:
Little abrasive, due to the spherical shape associated to
the hardness and density of glass, they remove
contaminations and finish surfaces, in the majority of
cases, quickly and effectively, without destroying the
tolerances of the treated parts. The material is inert, does
not react with treated materials, as it does not encrust on
the blasted surfaces. Its hardness is between 5 and 7 in the
MOHS scale.
Applications: Cleaning,
satin finishing, engraving, deburring, shot peening (peening:
generates high micro-tensions which alter the normal
characteristics such as resistance to fatigue, to friction,
to cracks, to wear, to oxidation and to high temperatures,
among the most important ones). Low productivity, medium
recycling.

Auminum Oxide
Characteristics:
Abrasive products with high cleaning power, in gray or grown
color powder, obtained from bauxite, of minteral origin,
with low degree of toxicity. High hardness: 9 in the Mohs
scale, very tenacious and refractory, low reactivity and
good stability, resistant to high temperature, fusion above
2000ºC, density of + or – 1.8 gr/cm3.
Applications: Can be
used in blasting rooms or cabinets, for cleaning of parts in
general, removal of oxidized layers, cleaning of "scales"
resulting from heat treatment, preparation of surfaces to be
painted or coated, besides metallic materials. It is also
used on glass plastic or non-ferrous parts. It provides
excellent productivity in pickling processes, preparations
for painting or application of other coatings on ferrous
metals. Excellent productivity, average recycling.

Steel Grit
Characteristics: High
recycling, low dust generation, high productivity, used on
ferrous metals, it is a metallic abrasive material, produced
from selected steel.
Applications: Cleaning
of metallic surfaces to eliminate corrosion up to white
material and to produce an ancoragem pattern that improves
adherence of later treatments, either through painting,
metallization or rubberization. Used in room, cabinet or
wheel blasting, and in equipment where the abrasive material
can be recycled and purified for reuse. It can reach up to
400 cycles of useful life.
Angular Grit (Grit)
For cleaning of steel or cast iron metallic surfaces to
eliminate corrosion up to white metal or to produce an
ancoragem pattern that improves adherence of later treatment,
through painting, metalization or robberization. Also used
in stone cutting and polishing.

For leaning of scales on cast of forged parts,
generally in pressurized cabinets or wheel
blasting equipment. For shot peening treatment
it is normally used in pressure cabinets.

Sodium Bicarbonate
An ecological abrasive material , it does not
contaminate the environment, it is biodegradable, and
can be used for blasting applications on open areas in
dry or wet blasting operations. It does not damage the
part. Ideal for mould blasting.
Ideal meshes for blasting operations: Technical or
extra-fine (edible). |
